Spirulina Smoothie

The superfood spirulina is a long lost love of health nuts in the 1970s. We at New Age Nutrition, are here to make a serious case for its comeback. This blue-green algae has gone a little under the radar, but there’s good reason to incorporate all its goodness into your diet.

Amino acids make up 62 percent of spirulina, making it a complete protein. It’s one of the few known plant sources of vitamin B12 (great for vegans). Additionally, Spirulina is full of amino acids, enzymes, and pro-biotics to enhance your immune system & digestive health. Some days we all just need an extra boost of health and a beautiful glass of green goodness is the best way to get it.If you’re new to healthy eating and are yet to try a green spirulina smoothie, just do it. Here’s the recipe to magic potion.

Spirulina Smoothie


– 1 scoop (10gms) of Prodiet Spirulina .
– 1/2 cup curried puréed carrots (steamed carrots with curry powder, cumin and ginger).
– 1/4 cup raw almonds.
– 1 TBSP fresh ginger sliced thin.
– 1/4 cup dried cranberries.
– 1/2 cup almond milk.
– 1 cup  spinach.
– 2 medjool dates (Optional, this sweetens it)


Simply place everything together in the blender. Blend until smooth and enjoy! I personally like my smoothies thick so that I can eat them with spoon. So you may want to add little more water/almond milk to make it runnier. Then sip, love and enjoy!!
